Mister Miracle v1 #14, 1973 - Scouting for a place to hold their next performance, Scott Free and Oberon cross paths with a band of satan worshippers. Grotesquely designed masks and costumes quickly grab the reader's attention.
Jack Kirby draws them with obvious delight and enthusiasm. His cleverly crafted drawings include a gripping double-page spread and three splash pages. The best of these is centered around a prototypical haunted mansion (see interior page below). More than a few pages remind me of Kirby's work on Black Magic. This is 14 of 18
