The Thing v2 #1, 1983 - Two decades after his debut in Fantastic Four, the Thing finally gets his own solo series with this first issue. John Byrne accompanies his script with a powerful cover design. Amidst a scene of destruction, the Thing stands triumphant amidst the debris. Byrne's work showcases his draftsmanship, most evident when inking his own pencils. Note the terrific level of detail he infuses into the surrounding rubble. This issue also includes artwork by Ron Wilson and Joe Sinnott.
