Uncanny Tales #51 |
Uncanny Tales v1 #51, 1957 - A scientist has recurring nightmares of extreme size reduction, leading him to believe he's losing his mind. Some of Al Williamson's perspectives and proportions are off, but his moody drawings help compensate. His large, amorphous opening panel sets the tone perfectly. The artist inks his own pencils according to some sources, but it looks more likely done by Ralph Mayo. The fine linework on the faces matches stylistically with other collaborations between the two. This story was later reprinted in Al Williamson Forbidden Worlds. Other artists in this golden age comic include John Forte and Gary Morrow. Cover by Bill Everett. This is 1 of 1 Uncanny Tales issues by Williamson.
