Intimate Love #19 |
Intimate Love v1 #19, 1952 - Newly married and relocating to New York, a young wife struggles to fit in with her husband's affluent friends and colleagues.
Alex Toth's superb drawings are supported by his deft sequencing. The artist uses close cropped panels throughout, making the characters that much more intimate. His opening splash is a prime example of thoughtful design. Mike Peppe's inks add personality, while maintaining the integrity of the pencils. Narration and dialogue crowds the imagery on the final page, but Toth's layouts otherwise meet expectations. Other artists in this golden age comic include Mike Sekowsky, John Celardo, Ross Andru and Sid Greene. This is 1 of 4
