House of Secrets #87 - Neal Adams cover, Michael Kaluta art

Neal Adams
House of Secrets v1 #87, 1970 - Expertly rendered by Neal Adams, a robot sheds his human disguise just as two kids peer through the basement window. Interestingly, the cocker spaniel in the foreground contains the bulk of his effort. Note how the dog is eating atop a table rather than the floor, likely due to artistic license. Michael Kaluta delivers his finest work on the series: a tale of ancient Egypt and an out of body experience. Sometimes mis-attributed with Bernie Wrightson inks, the pages are colored in pale, subtle tones and mostly focus on form. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Dick Dillin, Dick Giordano, Ross Andru, Mike Esposito and Bill Draut. This is 6 of 9 House of Secrets issues by Adams. /// select Kaluta art
