Man of Steel v1 #3, 1986 - Superman encounters the Batman for the first time, temporarily joining forces to capture the villainess Magpie.
John Byrne continues to showcase key characters on the cover, but disappointingly re-uses an inside panel. His story continues to be visual engaging. Curiously, many of the backgrounds (especially the cityscapes) are minimally rendered, while others (such as page 6 panel 1) display an impressive level of detail. Overall, Byrne juxtaposed the two iconic heroes (and the differences( quite nicely. This is 3 of 6
