Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #45 - Carl Barks art

Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #45, 1944 - Donald Duck and his nephews both open up a boat rental business. Their competition for business results in a slew of shenanigans. Carl Barks tries his hand at depicting various sea creatures (see interior page below), bringing variety to the pages. Most of the panels are deceptively simple, yet the artist doesn't flinch from adding detail where necessary. In a clever touch, Barks forms the story title out of sailing rope. Other characters featured in this issue include Mickey Mouse and Bucky Bug.
