The Monsters: Color the Creature Book SC (softcover book), 1974 - Published at the height of his fame, this oversized coloring book showcases some of Bernie Wrightson's best work of the period. Each spread features a different monster or mythical creature. Each drawing is painstakingly executed. Some pages, like "The Vampire" and "The Plant Monster", are done in the artist's typical high contrast style. Others, like "Frankenstein's Monster", "Goblins" and "Cyclops" (see interior page below) employ finer linework and greater detail. Some illustrations were later reprinted as covers for Berni Wrightson Master of the Macabre. As a whole, this collection of works easily matches any of his best bronze age works.
