Kid Colt Outlaw #66 |
Kid Colt Outlaw v1 #66, 1956 - An infamous outlaw rides into town, presumably to take revenge on the man who testified against him. A large spacious panel opens this all-too-brief tale of the old west (see interior page below).
Al Williamson's artwork starts out strong, but diminishes toward the end. Fine painterly details abound on the rural, pristine backgrounds. Williamson takes special care with the characters' faces, allowing their expressions to set the appropriate tone. Other artists in this golden age comic include John Severin and Jack Keller.
