Adventure Comics v1 #460, 1978 - Continuing the saga of the New Gods, Darkseid tries to be the first to pierce the fabled Final Barrier in space. In a separate feature, Aquaman investigates the killing of whales off the coast of Coney Island. Both drawn by Don Newton, the first story is almost over delineated. Perhaps due to enthusiasm, the figures are more contorted than usual. By contrast, the Aquaman tale is more robust. Depth and clarity are enhanced due to Dan Adkin's seasoned inks (see interior page below). This issue includes art by Jim Aparo, Joe Staton and Jack Abel. Cover by Ross Andru and Dick Giordano. This is 2 of 8 Adventure Comics issues by Newton.
