Batman v1 #356, 1983 - Kidnapped and taken to a duplicate Wayne Manor, Bruce Wayne must fight for the right for continuing as Batman. The scenario is competently drawn by Don Newton, whose varied layouts add to a sense of unexpectedness. A battle between two "Batmans" ensues on page 17, culminating in a terrific splash page on page 19. Dick Giordano's inks are assertive at times, but in general, Newton's style comes forward. This story was later reprinted in
Tales of the Batman: Gerry Conway #3. Cover by Ed Hannigan and Giordano.
