Brave and the Bold v1 #42 presents Hawkman, 1962 - Returning to their home planet, Hawkman and Hawkgirl encounter a flock of strange beings that ride giant dragonflies. Making matters worse, the shape-changer Byth escapes his incarceration. The alien setting adds a distinctive science fiction element to the tale. Joe Kubert, tasked with creating new creatures, cityscapes and plant life, delivers another fine effort. His imagination is matched only by his precise draftsmanship. Alas, Kubert's cover falls short of his interiors. Note that this story was later reprinted in the Hawkman trade paperback.
