Savage Sword of Conan #1 - Neal Adams art, Barry Windsor Smith reprint

Savage Sword of Conan v1 #1, 1974 - Red Sonja appears in her first solo story since her debut in Conan the Barbarian #23. Upon entering an unfamiliar city, the she-devil with a sword is captured and assigned to the king's brothel. Esteban Maroto's capable pencils are inked by several members of the "Crusty Bunkers". Prominent among these is Neal Adams, who appears to have delineated many of the main characters. His handiwork adds modeling and depth to several scenes (see interior page below) but not significantly enough to stand out. This story was later reprinted in Savage Sword of Conan #83 and Marvel Feature v2 #1 (first time in color). Also included is Barry Smith's “The Frost Giant's Daughter”, originally published in Savage Tales #1. This is number 1 of 3 Savage Sword of Conan issues with Adams art and/or covers (not including reprints).
