Authentic Police Cases v1 #15, 1950 - With the help of a beautiful woman, an exporter steals and ships valuable medicinal drugs to Europe.
Matt Baker's drawings are largely adequate, but the degree of finish suggests perhaps a different inker. Some panels are more loosely defined than usual. Other scenes, while not displeasing, incorporate more background texture. Baker's cover only vaguely references the story, but his careful detailing results in another splendid effort. Within this opulent scene, the artist uses a tasteful nude for the base of the lamp (left bottom corner). Other artists in this golden age crime comic include Ralph Lane. This is 10 of 28
