Captain America v1 #248, 1980 - Awaking the long dormant Dragon Man, the Machinesmith directs him on a path of destruction through the city. John Byrne does a fine job with the more mundane aspects of Steve Rogers' life, as well as the obligatory fight scenes. The drawings are superb, made more so by Josef Rubinstein's sensitive inking. Highlights include the Dragon Man's womb-like state on page 6 and the villain's growing rage on page 9. This is 4 of 15 Captain America issues with Byrne. /// Byrne gallery
