Aces High v1 #2, 1955 - During WWI, an infantryman longs to leave the trenches and find greater glory as a pilot. Wally Wood continues to show his deftness in depicting different planes from that era. His drawings are carefully crafted to enhance, rather than detract from the storytelling. This story was later reprinted in Aces High v2 #2. George Evans does some of his finest work as well. Other artists in this golden age comic include Jack Davis and Bernard Krigstein.
