Fantastic Four v1 #76, 1968 - Delving into a sub-atomic universe, the FF must bring back the Silver Surfer or face the wrath of Galactus. Jack Kirby begins with a relatively peaceful opening splash, building up to the action-packed scenes. Toward the tale's beginning, the artist displays a full page portrait of the Surfer. Unusually jubilant, he flies freely through a microscopic universe filled with inventive Kirby-esque shapes and patterns. This is 76 of 116 Fantastic Four issues by Kirby.
