Daredevil v1 #165, 1980 - Doctor Octopus appears just as a shipment of the ultra-strong metal adamantium disappears. The villain's flailing mechanical arms make for a graphically interesting cover, combined with Daredevil's after images. Though complex, Frank Miller's composition is perfectly balanced and orchestrated. The story pages carry over some of the same excitement. Doc Ock debuts in a wide double-page panel, juxtaposed with a slow, deliberate sequence of smaller ones. As usual, Miller's layout and pacing skills are superb. This is 7 of 33 Daredevil issues by Miller.
