DC Special v1 #28 presents Earth-Shattering Disasters, 1977 - Featuring all new material, three disaster-themed tales feature Aquaman, Batman and the Legion of Super-heroes, respectively. Don Newton's art on Aquaman precedes his work on the hero's own title. His full page splash at the beginning is oddly composed yet nicely rendered. Overall he does a terrific job, especially with his well-defined, dramatically lit faces (see interior page below). Other artists in this bronze age comic include Arvell Jones, Bob Layton, John Calnan and Tex Blaisdell. Cover by Jim Aparo. This is 1 of 1 DC Special issues by Newton.
