Red Sonja v3 #1, 1983 - A close-in portrait of Red Sonja, this Walt Simonson cover is eye-catching but lacks adequate definition. The perpendicular placement of the swords offers a nice contrast to her flowing tresses. Her hands are clearly defined, but her face displays only the most basic details. While consistent with his style, Simonson delivers a lackluster effort. Other artists in this copper age comic include Dave Simons and Vince Colletta.
