Incredible Hulk v1 #2 marvel comic book cover art by Jack Kirby & Steve Ditko
Jack Kirby / Steve Ditko
Incredible Hulk v1 #2, 1962 - The Hulk changes his skin color to green, contrasting directly with the previous issue (a decision attributed to Stan Lee). This decision would prove fortuitous, firmly distinguishing the character from a growing pantheon of Marvel heroes. Jack Kirby's competent pencils are inked by another artistic giant, Steve Ditko. Unfortunately, the second half of the book is weakened by a lack of adequate detail on many pages. Ditko's most significant enhancements are in the chapter title pages, especially Bruce Banner's sudden reappearance amidst twisted wreckage (page 12). This is 1 of 2 Incredible Hulk issues by Ditko and 2 of 5 Incredible Hulk issues by Kirby.

Some of the Pages do not look like Jack Kirby had anything to do with them and some pages do. I can't be alone in thinking that some pages belong only to Steve Ditko.

In addition to pages pencilled by Kirby and inked by Ditko, it's possible that some pages were laid out by Kirby and pencilled and inked by Ditko. Kirby often provided layouts for many Marvel issues during this period. Usually though, he's credited in the issue with doing the layouts and/or the pencils. Interesting observation...
