Yellowjacket Comics v1 #7, 1946 - One of the more obscure superheroes from the 1940s, The Yellowjacket fought crime with fisticuffs and the aid of trained bees. Typical of the era, the issue also contains a wide variety of genres, including Diana the Huntress, Tales of Terror, Cap'n Grim and Fip the Filipino Kid. Within this assortment is a single page of military gags by Alex Toth. Done early in his career, the artist struggles with the figure drawings, perspective and general layout. The art is primitive, amateurish and sometimes uses racist stereotypes (not uncommon at the time).
