The Rook #12 - non-attributed Nestor Redondo art

The Rook v1 #12, 1981 - Among several back-up stories in this issue, Nestor Redondo introduces a horrific creature simply called "The Bat". No stranger to horror comics, the artist's fluid style makes the tale that much more precious and sophisticated. Redondo's opening full page splash is beautifully rendered, even for a character that seems derivative of DC Comics' Man-Bat. Other artists in this issue include Lee Elias, Rudy Nebres, John Severin, Bill Draut and Bob Larkin (cover). This is number 2 of 2 Rook issues with Redondo art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Redondo or Rook issues. See also this blog's Redondo checklist or Top 10 Redondo comics.
