Balder the Brave #2 - Walt Simonson cover, mis-attributed art

Walt Simonson
Balder the Brave v1 #2, 1986 - The exploits of Balder, a supporting character from Thor, continue in this Marvel mini-series. Walt Simonson's cover portrays the hero utterly defeated, his face in shadow and his fingers ground into the dirt. While competently laid out, the background figure's face is obscured to the point of abstraction. Unfortunately, its proximity to the masthead makes it more noticeable and that much more distracting. Despite comic book guides attributing the story art to Simonson, it's actually Sal Buscema. This is number 2 of 4 Balder the Brave issues with Simonson art and/or covers.
