Marvel Preview v1 #10 presents Thor, 1977 -
Jim Starlin's two separate efforts in this issue are noticeably stark. His Thor feature story is impressive in sheer length (thirty pages) but lacking in artistry. Sadly, his pencils are buried beyond recognition by inker Tony DeZuniga. By comparison, Starlin's frontispiece is a magnificent portrait of the thunder god. Well designed and executed, it suggests being drawn earlier than the publication date. Oddly enough, comic book guides credit the artist's inside front cover, but not the interior story. Other artists in this magazine include Carmine Infantino, Alfredo Alcala, Val Mayerick and Rudy Nebres. Cover by Ken Barr. This is 1 of 4
