Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge v1 #27, 1959 - Uncle Scrooge accepts another challenge from Flintheart Glomgold, the multi-trillionaire who first claimed to be the wealthiest duck alive in
Uncle Scrooge #15. While difficult to compare to a beloved classic, this tale does lack the exotic settings of the original.
Carl Barks' funniest moments are toward the end, as Donald and his nephews help Uncle Scrooge defend his money pile against more extreme cheating methods. Flintheart Glomgold employs a giant cannon near the final scene, a typically clever Barks method of using scale to build up to a story's climax (see interior page below). "The Money Champ" was later reprinted in
Walt Disney Comics Digest #22 and
Uncle Scrooge #150. "The Firefly Tracker" appeared in
Uncle Scrooge #150. This is 27 of 70
Uncle Scrooge issues by
Barks.
