| Outer Space v2 #1 |
Outer Space v2 #1, 1968 - Nearing an idyllic unspoiled planet, a renegade spaceman disposes the ship's crew and lays claim to the new territory. Steve Ditko's work in this this first issue is simply extraordinary. Wildly inventive forms fills the panels, from alien planets to futuristic technologies. Layouts are dynamically configured, containing crisp, clear drawings and textures. Ditko's fine draftsmanship only wanes (slightly) toward the story 's end, where an outmoded stereotypical twist occurs. This issue also includes artwork by Nicholas Alacasia and Pat Boyette. Cover by Boyette.- - - - - - - - - -
