Two-Fisted Tales #18 |
Two-Fisted Tales v1 #18, 1950 - Formerly Haunt of Fear, this war title begins an impressive run. Along with Frontline Combat, this was one of only two ongoing war books in EC's 1950s lineup. Wally Wood illustrates a tale of two professional soldiers, fighting on the opposite sides of a Central American revolution. One of his early works, the page layouts and figure drawings are a tad clumsy. Still, his drawings shows great potential. What the artist lacks in polish, he makes up for in enthusiasm. Fortunately, Wood would progress quickly working on one of the most sophisticated war titles of the era. This story was later reprinted in Two-Fisted Tales v2 #1. This issue also includes art by Al Feldstein and Johnny Craig. Cover by Harvey Kurtzman. This is 1 of 18 Two-Fisted Tales issues by Wood. /// key 1st issue / Wood gallery
