Marvel Preview v1 #6 presents Sherlock Holmes, 1976 - Concluding the "Hound of the Baskervilles" storyline, Marvel Comics gives its own rendition of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous detective. Neal Adams illustrates only the inside front cover, depicting a lone Sherlock Holmes evading gunfire. The composition is bit bland, but I like how the London fog obscures unnecessary elements and reinforces the mysterious tone. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Val Mayerik and Tony DeZuniga. Cover by Ken Barr.

I thought Wrightson may have had a hand in this, but Nealadams.com credits Val Mayerik. This explains the bland composition. Holmes looks 100% Adams. Wrightson probably influenced Mayerik's Man-Thing.
