House of Mystery #276 - Steve Ditko art

House of Mystery v1 #276, 1980 - Told in poetic rhyme, a tale of a newly wedded couple seems partially inspired by Edgar Allen Poe. Steve Ditko adheres to the pacing and rhythm by using a mostly equal-sized nine panel grid. His artwork is adequate and the drawings become more detailed as the story progresses. Mike Kaluta's cover references the Ditko tale, capturing the groom's homicidal tendencies. Other artists in this issue include Nestor Malgapo, Mike Nasser and Mike Kaluta (cover). This is number 5 of 6 House of Mystery issues with Ditko art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Ditko or House of Mystery issues. See also this blog's Ditko checklist.
