Wyatt Earp v2 #10
Wyatt Earp v2 #10, 1959Russ Manning illustrates two related stories, each pitting Earp and Doc Holliday against the corrupt Clanton family. While the action scenes in "Battle of Men and Words" are the typical fare, "Outlaws' Witness" relies more on courtroom drama and dialogue. Both feature Manning's clear, delineated characters, crisp backgrounds and deft visual storytelling. Between the main features is a tale of a bank robber's confrontation with a hay farmer. This non-attributed Alex Toth's tale is spontaneously drawn, though some panels are more detailed than others (see interior page below). Interestingly, the issue gives the opportunity to compare and contrast two great artists and their distinctive styles. Photo cover. This is 1 of 2 Wyatt Earp v2 issues by Toth and 10 of 13 Wyatt Earp v2 issues by Manning. /// Manning gallery
