Wyatt Earp v2 / Four Color v2 #860, 1957 - Based on the tv western, this series features actor Hugh O' Brian on all the covers. Russ Manning begins his run with two splendid tales in this first issue. In the first, a gang of thieves terrorize Dodge City before taking refuge atop the highest mesa in the region. The second tale tells of an escaped convict bent on extracting revenge on the famous marshal. Both are exquisitely drawn, opening with large panels that firmly establish the town settings. An equally spacious scene occurs on page 9, revealing the hidden lair of criminals. Photo cover.
