Ripley's Believe It or Not v2 #1 - Al Williamson, Wally Wood art + 1st issue

Ripley's Believe It or Not v2 #1, 1965 - One of Gold Key's longest running mystery titles, this first issue features ghost stories inspired by the newspaper strip. Wally Wood finely details the mystery of an 1800s-era sailing vessel. Despite only four pages, his talent is evident on many panels, including scenes of churning ocean waves. Al Williamson does an equally splendid job on his tale of a man tormented by an ancient Egyptian curse. The drawings are crisp and tightly delineated. "The Ghost Ship" was reprinted in Ripley's Believe It or Not v2 #80 and Mystery Comics Digest #1 and "The Flaming Scar" in Ripley's Believe It or Not v2 #80, Mystery Comics Digest #4 and Al Williamson Forbidden Worlds. This issue also includes artwork by George Evans and Frank Bolle. This is 1 of 1 Ripley's Believe It or Not issues by Williamson and 1 of 1 Ripley's Believe It or Not issues by Wood. /// key 1st issue
