New Mutants v1 #75, 1989 -
John Byrne does an overall capable job on his only issue of this series. His opening splash and following panoramic spread provide an impressive setting. On subsequent pages, Byrne's influence subsides due to Bob McCleod's more aggressive inks. Still, his depictions of Magneto, Sebastian Shaw, Emma Frost and Sabre-Tooth do not disappoint. The artist's cover is fairly standard, but his signature mischievously finds its way into the strewn debris (bottom center, below Magneto's cape). This is 1 of 1
