Valor #3 |
Valor v1 #3, 1955 - The leader of a Roman legion learns some harsh lessons on the battlefield. As in most EC stories, the narration and dialogue leave less room for visuals. And yet
Al Williamson's manages to exceed expectations with meticulously drawn uniforms, weapons and unspoiled environments (see interior page below). The story's large opening panel effectively displays the rugged setting and the scope of the military engagement. This story was later reprinted in
Valor v2 #3. Other artists in this golden age comic include Joe Orlando, Reed Crandall and Bernie Krigstein. Cover by Joe Orlando. This is 3 of 4
Valor issues by
Williamson.
