House of Mystery #225 - Alex Nino art, Jack Kirby reprint

House of Mystery v1 #225, 1974 - Scheduled to hang, a devious prisoner calls upon Satan to make him invisible to all. Long vertical and horizontal panels add to the distorted nature of Alex Nino's work. Some of the textural effects, such as the first page, lack definition but the artist maintains clarity on the remaining pages. In this case, Nino's layouts may be better than the drawings themselves. Among the reprints, a Jack Kirby tale from House of Secrets #4 stands out from the pack. Other artists in this issue include Frank Thorne, E.R. Cruz, Alfredo Alcala and Luis Dominguez (cover). This is number 6 of 14 House of Mystery issues with Nino art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Nino, Kirby or House of Mystery issues. See also this blog's Kirby checklist or Nino checklist.
