Eclipse Monthly v1 #1, 1983 - The crowded cover displays several familiar characters, all drawn by their respective artists. Steve Ditko's Static, making his first appearance, is the result of an electrical experiment that goes awry. The hero's transformation scene is Ditko at his most visually arresting. In Marshall Rogers' tale, a boy invents a pair of futuristic sneakers. Cap'n Quick and a Foozle is fun, imaginative, and includes some striking special effects (see interior page below). Rogers handles the kid genre surprisingly well.
