Detective Comics #369 - Neal Adams art

Detective Comics #369
Detective Comics v1 #369, 1967 - Surprisingly, Neal Adams' first effort on this series features Elongated Man rather than Batman. Following the robbery of an antique from his wife, E-man uses his own sleuthing skills to hunt down the thief. Due to his stretching abilities, his stories tend to skew on the humorous side. Adams does a terrific job maintaining that, while using perspective and foreshortening to increase depth. His jumbled opening splash is largely offset by his keen draftsmanship. Other artists in this silver age comic include Carmine Infantino and Murphy Anderson. Cover by Gil Kane. This is 1 of 38 Detective Comics issues by Adams.

The first full Adams Detective cover was issue 372, where he battles the "Fearsome Foot-Fighters!" It is not often reproduced.
