Maverick v1 #13, 1956 - Although the series is based on the ABC television show, this issue features an unrelated backup story by Alex Toth. An old prospector weighs the negatives and positives of owning a sporadically obedient mule. The artist's drawings are noticeably hurried but his storytelling skills are generally sound. His last page is the weakest, lacking definition on many of the faces and figures. Toth does only an adequate job in this golden age comic that guides have neglected to attribute. Photo cover. This is 2 of 2 Maverick issues by Toth.
