Tarzan of the Apes #176 |
Tarzan of the Apes v1 #176, 1968 - Tracking an American hunter and English photographer, Tarzan discovers a society of medieval knights in an unknown part of Africa.
Russ Manning's layouts meet expectations, but his drawings begins to ebb in this later work. Mike Royer does the bulk of the inking, lacking some of the precision of his mentor. The results are mixed but lack fine detail overall. This issue begins to adapt Edgar Rice Burroughs'
Tarzan Lord of the Jungle. Other artists in this silver age comic include Tom Massey. Cover by George Wilson. This is 132 of 133
Tarzan issues by
Manning.
