Rin Tin Tin v1 #36, 1960 -
Alex Toth did a handful of short back-up stories for this publisher, primarily in western comics. Set in the American old west, an aged Chinaman becomes the target of thieves. The opening scene, depicting two cowboys perched on a high overlook (see interior page below), gives readers a comfortably wide vista within a half-page panel. Toth firmly establishes the story's setting with only the most essential elements. His fine drawings are augmented by well-timed and carefully paced storytelling, despite the relatively short page count. Photo cover. This is 2 of 2
