Haunted Love #8 - Don Newton art & cover

Don Newton
Haunted Love v1 #8, 1975 - A ghostly woman shimmers in the moonlight of this eerie Don Newton cover. Although there is some transparency toward the bottom of her dress, she unintentionally appears as solid as an ice sculpture. Inside, Newton draws a single page announcement touting the series Baron Weirwulf's Haunted Library (see interior page below). Several hosts from other Charlton horror titles congratulate the Baron on his new series. This ad would appear in other Charlton titles from the same period. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Pete Morisi, Sanho Kim, Charles Nicholas and Wayne Howard. This is 1 of 2 Haunted Love issues by Newton. /// Newton gallery

How did you do 12 Romance covers and reviews and leave out 1950's Vince Colletta? Send me an email to danmcfan@gmail.com and I will send you some scans.

Sadly, my collection of romance comics is limited. I have seen some of Colletta's romance comics, but I don't follow his work in general. However, I'll be reviewing some 1950s Personal Love issues by Frank Frazetta starting next week.
