Tower of Shadows #5 |
Tower of Shadows v1 #5, 1970 - The book opens with
Barry Smith narrating his own tale of a Hollywood actor specializing in monster movies. The artist does a better job than previously, with more careful renderings and helped by the arresting opening splash. Inker Dan Adkins also adds much needed refinement to the inexperienced pencils.
Wally Wood begins a series of sword and sorcery stories toward the back. Swordsmen, damsels and wizards are drawn in an appealing fantasy style typical of his bronze age works. This story was later reprinted in the
Marvel Comics Art of Wally Wood. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Syd Shores. Cover by Marie Severin. This is 2 of 3
