Neal Adams
Green Lantern / Green Arrow v2 #78, 1970 - The Black Canary, a supporting character beginning with this issue, runs afoul of a messianic cult leader. Neal Adams' pencils are terrific, from the heroine's dreamlike combat sequence (page 3) to the deranged expressions of the story's antagonist. Interestingly, the artist employs a looser, impressionistic technique on page 13 panel 6. It seems to reinforce the vagueness of Black Canary's memories. Frank Giacoia's inks are a definite improvement from the previous issue, evident in the sensitive brushwork throughout the tale. This bronze age story was later reprinted in Green Lantern Green Arrow #2. This is 4 of 15 Green Lantern v2 issues by Adams. /// Adams gallery
