X-men #65 |
X-men v1 #65, 1970 - After his apparent death in
X-men #42, Professor X makes a dramatic return. In the meantime, an imminent alien invasion unifies the team as a whole.
Neal Adams' last issue is his least impressive, but falls within expectations. His layouts and drawings are more conventional than usual, though they improve as the story progresses. Curiously, a gargantuan creature on page 12 was redrawn by Marie Severin (per Stan Lee's instructions), resulting in a glaring inconsistency of styles. That change also necessitated that she do a revised cover. Note that this is the only non-Adams cover during his run. This is 9 of 9
