Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #265 - Carl Barks art

Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #265, 1962 - To raise money for a civic cause, Uncle Scrooge puts his first dime (“Old Number One”) on display. Unfortunately, the sorceress Magica De Spell plans to steal it for one of her most ambitious spells. In a nod to Edgar Allen Poe, Carl Barks uses a black raven (quoting “Nevermore”) as an integral character in the plot. While not as visually engaging as other works, the artwork nonetheless suffices. Other characters featured in this issue include Chip N’ Dale, Ludwig Von Drake, Gyro Gearloose, Goofy and Mickey Mouse. See today's posts or more Barks or Walt Disney's Comics and Stories issues.
