Tomb of Dracula v1 #1, 1972 - This first issue begins Marvel's longest running bronze age horror title. Neal Adams' interpretation of Dracula adheres to the early film version by Bela Lugosi, but the character would evolve into its own Marvel look and feel. The theme of a vampire holding a female victim is a classic one, in this case accompanied by a medieval castle within the foggy moors. The inks are a bit rough and less defined than usual for the artist. Initially I thought Dick Giordano finished it, but closer inspection suggests Adams did it himself. This Marv Wolfman story is drawn by Gene Colan and Tom Palmer.
