Donald Duck #45 - Carl Barks art

Walt Disney's Donald Duck v1 #45, 1956 - After a decade of full-length Donald Duck features, Carl Barks does his first short story for this title. Donald Duck's new job as a dogcatcher goes awry, especially when he crosses paths with an ongoing foxhunt. One particular scene cleverly uses repetitive panels (see interior page below), that nearly mimic animation. Despite only six pages, Barks' witty illustrations enhance an enjoyably written tale. This story was later reprinted in Donald Duck #157. This is number 32 of 43 Donald Duck issues with Barks art and/or covers (not including reprints).
