Frank Miller |
Daredevil v1 #158, 1979 - Continuing from the previous issue, the Unholy Three kidnap Matt Murdock before his friends and colleagues.
Frank Miller takes over midstream, bringing his gritty, urban aesthetic to the series. On the opening splash, the Black Widow's anger is cleverly captured through the broken window behind her. The subsequent chase scene is beautifully enhanced by various architecture around Manhattan (including the Flat Iron Building on page 7). Miller's artwork culminates in a deftly paced, graveyard battle with the Deathstalker. The artist's first effort on the series hints at greater things to come. This is 1 of 33
Daredevil issues by
Miller.
