Jumbo Comics v1 #69, 1944 - Sheena the Jungle Girl and her companion Bob receive a letter from a dying friend asking them to come. Traversing through another part of the vast jungle, they reach him in time, but sinister forces are at work to commit thievery. In his very first work in comics, Matt Baker illustrates all the female characters in the story. His figure drawing is splendid, integrating with the parts by Alex Blum and Robert Webb. Two other stories are supposedly partially inked by Baker but "Sky Girl" is less recognizable in style. Cover by Joe Doolin.
